Math In Everyday Life-Cooking With Fractions
Today in math class we made chocolate chip banana muffins. One of the things that went well was that we all worked together. Another thing that went well was that our muffins looked yummy, even though we didn’t win the taste test. One of the things that went wrong is that some of our muffins had too many chocolate chips and some didn't have enough. Before we started baking we doubled the fractions for the recipe. It wasn’t hard and it was easiest for me to use the paper and pencil but, on the second recipe that we didn’t get to today we had to half the recipe. I used diagrams for that because I’m not that good at dividing fractions yet. Over all it was a good day and I thought my groups muffin turned out good.

For Angela-Response Journal
For Angela- Response Journal
Everywhere in the world racism happens and people that see or hear it do nothing. Like in “For Angela” she and her daughter were on the bus and the boy’s that were on the bus too made fun of their culture. The boy’s said that Angela’s mom was a drunk. After that she found the courage that no one else would have in order to stand up for her and her daughter for what the boys said on the bus, even though everyone just stood by. Angela’s mom went to the boy’s school and talked to his principal.
I think all the people on the bus stood by because they didn’t want to be made fun of or didn’t know what to say. If I were on the bus and listening to that I would try to help, even though I wouldn’t know what to say. Racism makes me feel bad for the person that it is happening to. When you hear racism how do you feel?
Have you ever thought of how much racism is in your society in which you live in? Well there is lots sometimes you hear it and sometimes you don’t, but there is some in every society. I think in my society there is racism and every time I hear or see it I will try to help them.

Real Life Math-Cooking With Fractions
Today in math we baked apple crisp using fractions. This was fun because I got to be with my friends and not sit in the classroom with a paper and pencil. Today I learned how to make apple crisp, simplfy fraction and peel an apple. When we baked the apple crisp I learned more because we were doing something we can actully use in real life. It was a seccess because our apple crisp turned out great and I hope it tastes great.
